      Why choose Files2Zip?

      Trust, clarity, and speed

      100% Client-side

Files never touch a server. All compression happens in your browser via WebAssembly-grade zip.js.

      Privacy by default

No accounts, no tracking, no upload queue. Your data stays on your device, period.

      Preview before download

Preview files that your browser can render (images, audio, videos, .txt and .html) before downloading them.

      Folders & nesting

Drop single files or entire directories and view the folder structure in your archive.

      No file limits

As many files as your browser can hold. No daily caps, no premium tier, no signup.

      Instant & offline

Because files are compressed locally, there is no upload delay. Compression finishes as fast as your device can process it.

      Works everywhere

Any modern browser, any OS — desktop or mobile. No install, no plugins, no app.

      Open format

Standard .zip output that opens in Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android out of the box.

      FAQ

      Common questions, answered clearly

No. Files2Zip compresses everything client-side using JavaScript. Your files never leave your browser.
However, if you email the ZIP file you made or save it to Dropbox, that ZIP file is sent to our server and saved there for a short time.

There is no artificial limit. The only constraint is your device memory: browsers can typically handle archives up to a couple of gigabytes before performance degrades.

If the ZIP file you've created is larger than 100MB, we can't offer email/Dropbox integrations. You can only download the ZIP file and then process it yourself.
